Join Don Smith and Ron Modra for a 5-day workshop in beautiful Joshua Tree National Park, California this upcoming April 7-11, 2024.
This workshop will focus (pardon the pun) on color, black-and-white and Infrared black-and white.
We will also spend 4 nights out shooting the park under the stars! We will cover: pinpoint stars, star trails and Milky Way.
Don Smith has been teaching workshops around the world for the past 16 years and is a Sony Ambassador and a Singh-Ray Ambassador. Ron Modra was a 27-year staff photographer for Sports Illustrated and had nearly 80 covers over the course of his illustrious career. He and Don have worked together for the past 7 years.

Joshua Tree FAQ's Lodging/Meals: The workshop will be headquartered at The Holiday Inn Express and Suites Twentynine Palms - Joshua Tree (Continental breakfast included). Lunch and dinner are extra. Each participant gets their own private room - no sharing.
Transportation: We will carpool to the shooting locations. Participants are required to have transportation to and from the workshop.
Travel and other expenses: Under no circumstances will we refund any charge not paid tees , such as (but not limited to) airfare, lodging, car rental, or meals. We strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance to cover any losses resulting from a cancelled workshop. WE ARE NOT AN INSURANCE COMPANY.
Spousal/Friend Policy: Only paid workshop participants are allowed on location due to permit and insurance regulations. They can share your room but we can not have them in either classes or locations.
Permits and Insurances: Don Smith Photography LLC is fully permitted for all location shoots and carries full-coverage insurance for all workshops.
