Join former Sports Illustrated staff photographer Ron Modra and I for our Second Annual Fall in Patagonia Workshop.
Our regions begin in the wondrous world of Blue Ice and glaciers in El Calafate, then onto perhaps three of the most dramatic mountain ranges South America has to offer: The Andes, The Fitzroy Range and Torres del Paine (including: Paine Grande, Aleta de Tiburon, Cuernos del Paine, Cerro Almirante Nieto, and the famed Torres Towers).
Part of what makes this area so unique is the sheer wildness and grandeur of the ominous peaks that world-class climbers such as Alex Honnold come to try. Weather can range from mild and pleasant to 70 mph winds making for awesome opportunities to capture 300-foot plus water spouts off turquoise-colored glacial lakes.
Longtime associate and friend, Ron Modra, will be co-teaching this Workshop with me. Ron was a 26-year staff photographer for Sports Illustrated and has traveled the world capturing action at major sporting events and creating amazing portraits of superstar athletes across the globe. His extraordinary images have landed on the cover over 70 times!
He also shares his extraordinary images in his book: A Baseball Life :: Four Decades Inside the Game.
Currently Ron shares his extensive knowledge through workshops and I am very excited to be teaming with him for Patagonia once again. Please read Ron's Bio.
The Workshop will span four geographical regions in Patagonia: El Calafate and El Chalten, Argentina, and Torres del Paine National Park and Puerto Natales in Chile.
We will photograph two glaciers (from land and up close from a boat). We will also get you up close and personal with amazing icebergs on Lake Argentino.
We will have knowledgeable local guides on hand to lead you to all of the iconic locations, as well as "locals only" spots that will tantalize your creative senses.
Local guides and transportation will be with us throughout.
We expect this workshop to sell fast, so don't wait!
