A lunar rainbow (moonbow) forms at the base of Lower Yosemite Falls under the light of a full moon. Yosemite Falls is one of only four falls in the world where one can witness this phenomenon. The other falls are: Cumberland Falls, Kentucky, Victoria Falls, Africa, and Waimea Falls, Kauai. To the naked eye, most people cannot see color in the bow as there is not enough light to excite the color receptors (cones) in humans eyes. The moonbow on this night (captured near midnight) was so vivid that the color was easily seen. Yosemite National Park, California, USA.
