2nd Annual Mystical Fog and Colorful Headlands Photo Workshop

Summer in Big Sur means golden rolling hills, colorful headlands, and mystical fog. Escape the summer heat and join me as I will guide you through this coastal paradise where the whispy Pacific fog adds a touch of mystique to this incredible coastline. Journey through a land of hidden coves, arches, and miles of the most dramatic shoreline that you'll ever have the pleasure of photographing. Beauty is everywhere and you will experience Big Sur from inside the fog as well as above the marine layer. We will begin this workshop on a Tuesday afternoon and end with a sunset shoot on Friday evening. These dates will allow us to experience this area without the usual crunch of tourists as many of the spots we will be visiting are also popular tourist destinations.

This workshop will have an emphasis on field location shooting. It will also include two sessions of Photoshop training and a minimum of two image review sessions. The Photoshop training will include: basic workflow, Levels, Curves, color correction, sharpening, adjusment layers, masks, burning and dodging techniques and RAW conversion. We will also look at software from Nik and HDR processing with Photomatix Pro.

If we happen to catch a rare clear night, we will substitute and evening of star photography with this dramatic shoreline as our foreground! Either way, you will experince and photograph Big Sur in an incredible manner!

Lodging/Meals: The workshop will be headquartered at the www.carmelmissioninn.com/  (next to the Barnyard and Crossroads Shopping Centers) Lunch and dinner are extra. Breakfast is included.

Transportation:  We will carpool to shooting locations. Participants are required to have transportation to and from the workshop.
