5th Annual Full Moon Over Red Rock, Arches, and Canyons
October 15 - 19, 2013
Join me for a workshop photographing some of the most beautiful arches, canyons, and red rock that southeast Utah has to offer. This year I am basing the workshop around the full Hunter's moon! We will be hosting the workshop in Moab, which conveniently sits amongst Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. I will have another qualified pro instructor with me for this workshop.
I have purposely planned this workshop during mid October to take advantage of the full moonrise/moonset. This will be our fifth year holding this workshop and it sells out fast so don't delay!
2013 Tentative Schedule:
Tuesday, October 15 - Workshop officially begins at 1pm with a 2-hour group orientation meeting followed by a sunset shoot at the famous Delicate Arch.
Wednesday, October 16 - Saturday, October 19 - We will explore many of the famous icons of both Arches and Canyonlands and take advantage of the spectacular sunrise and sunset light. This year we will also take advantage of the full moonrise and set. We will also include at least one evening of "star photography" at Arches utilizing one of the famous arches as our subject! We will also be visiting famed Dead Horse Point State Park as part of this workshop.
Each day will include training sessions on: Photoshop workflow, RAW processing with Adobe Camera Raw and an introduction to HDR processing with Nik HDR Efex Pro Software, and a look at the other latest plug-ins from Nik Software including Viveza, DFine, and Sharpener Pro. We will also have demonstrations on plotting moon photography, along with (2) image review sessions. New sessions dealing with composition, limiting factors in the field, and finding the right light have also been added!
The workshop will conclude at 9:30 am on Saturday, October 19, following a sunrise/early morning shoots.

Lodging/Meals: Lodging for 4 nights is included at River Canyon Lodge. Meals are not included in price of workshop.
Transportation: We will carpool to shooting locations. Participants are required to have transportation to and from the workshop and workshop locations.

Travel and other expenses: Under no circumstances will I refund any charge not paid to me, such as (but not limited to) airfare, lodging, car rental, or meals. Though I’ve never had to cancel a workshop, and consider the possibility extremely remote, for your peace of mind I strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance to cover any losses resulting from a cancelled workshop.
